Permit alerts
Hard-to-get permits come back all season. Get alerted the moment one does.
Whitney, the Enchantments, the marquee wilderness quotas — all claimed within minutes of release. But cancelled and unclaimed dates flow back to recreation.gov all season, and Calafia emails you the moment one reappears.

The honest list
Permits we deliberately don't cover
Some famous permits are lottery-only — there is no cancellation game to win, so a watch would be selling you false hope:
- Mt. Whitney Trail from Whitney Portal (day & overnight) — lottery-run, and its recreation.gov availability endpoints expose nothing watchable — we watch the Trail Crest overnight route instead, which is a real way up the same mountain.
- Wonderland Trail (Mount Rainier) — books through recreation.gov's itinerary system, which exposes no watchable quota — there is nothing for a Scout to check, so we won't pretend to watch it.
- Half Dome cables — lottery-only (preseason plus a daily lottery) — an availability watch can't win a lottery, so we won't sell you one.
- The Wave (Coyote Buttes North) — lottery-only — same story.
- Angels Landing — lottery-only — same story.
- Havasupai — not on recreation.gov at all (tribal reservation system).
